Chopin’s Nocturne Op.32 No.1 is a romantic drama. Inspired by the opera tradition of Bellini and Donizetti, Chopin has created a musical narrative that shifts from innocent romance to hesitation, drama and tragedy. The instrumentation could naturally be heard as voice and orchestra.
This version is arranged for guitar by Francisco Tárrega, with additional treatment by Mattias Schulstad, and captures Chopin’s influence on Tárrega and the guitar as we know it today.
