Schlemper Guitar Amplifier

Mattias Schulstad has received an amplifier by German amplification maker Stephan Schlemper. The amplifier allows the guitar to be heard in larger live contexts. For medium-sized venues, or acoustically challenging smaller venues, the amplifier is sufficient on its own, and, for larger venues, can be connected to in-house speaker systems. The amplifier is connected with a small microphone, which is placed on the guitar’s fretboard, near the sound hole. The amplifier measures 25.5 x 18 x 20 cm, which allows for an unobtrusive visual presence.

This purchase was made possible by generous support from the Barbro Osher Pro Suecia Foundation. Says Mattias Schulstad: “This amplifier enables the guitar’s intimate sound to be naturally heard in live contexts that would otherwise not be possible. I’m grateful to Barbro Osher and the Directors of the Barbro Osher Pro Suecia Foundation, for their important contribution in this effort. I would like to thank David Frost, Vesna Ljunggren, Margaret Mercer and Karin Switz, for their support as well.”
